A letter for my Mother

05/13/2012
Dear Mom,
There is one day a year that Celebrates mothers.  Really we should celebrate every day.  You are a most amazing woman.  You could fix a skinned, knee, make dinner, and get laundry all at the same time.  You are a super hero, nurse, taxi, therapist, confidante, teacher, cheerleader and coach.  You always have been my superhero.  I know I never tell you.  It seems that I am wrapped up in my own little world, as you and my sister say. It is not that I don’t know or recognize how amazing you are.  I am just being too selfish and not letting you know.  I apologize mom for all the times that I was short, or screechy  with you.  You were just being a mom and I was being (even into my adult years) a selfish brat.  You have always been the woman I come to for advice, even if it was something I wouldn’t want to hear, you would always be straightforward with me. I always appreciated that about you and I never tell you that.
Your family dinners are always magnificent.  You welcome new people into the home as if they are family and not everyone does that.  You are kind, loving, giving, and a most amazing home cook. Thank you for teaching.  You make sure that your children have all that they need even as adults, and would go without to make sure that they had.
You are the person we all come to with advice needs.  You listen to our problems, no matter how small, and give out the advice you think is best.  Most times we think, “yeah. Sure”…but in the end you usually end up hearing those three words mom love “You were right”.  You have let us cry on your shoulder after so  MANY heartbreaks.  Even when you are not feeling well, you still put the needs of us first.  Calling and asking how I am, when it is you who has the cold or flu.  My heart is hurting and you are the one who always tries to fix it….I love you mom.
Mom, there is no way in this world that I could ever find a way to repay you or truly show you how much I appreciate, LOVE, and respect you.
Thank you mom for being my SUPERHERO!!!  Thank you for being everything to me.

Love,
JoJo xoxo

Obama Supports Same-Sex Marriage???

.
Obama is in favor of Sam-Sex marriage….sure and I am 5’10” supermodel.  He has been in office for 4 years and just NOW he is speaking out in favor of same sex marriage???  Where has he been the last 4 years when New York and California were voting on this?
I find this VERY convenient seeing as how it is an election year.  He is doing everything he can to win “the peoples” vote.  Who seriously believes that he is speaking how he truly feels or is he saying what he THINKS people want to hear in order to gather votes? I mean who does he think his constituants are all a bunch of sheep that will just follow the sheep dog???

Well I see through him like a clean window on a clear day.  There is no way in hell that I believe his words, not in anyway.  With this subject being a hot topic for quite some time, Mr. Obama NEVER openly supported same sex marriage at any time.  As a matter of fact he was against it.  Now, all of a sudden he is supporting it.  I lost COMPLETE respect for the man.  I mean even if you have a stance against something that others may not agree with, at least stick to your morals and beliefs.  I will at the least have respect for you.  He lost my respect, though not sure if he ever really had it to being with.
Here are his words from March 2008: “I will tell you that I don’t believe in gay marriage, but I do think that people who are gay and lesbian should be treated with dignity and respect and that the state should not discriminate against them. So, I believe in civil unions that allow a same-sex couple to visit each other in a hospital or transfer property to each other. I don’t think it should be called marriage, but I think that it is a legal right that they should have that is recognized by the state. If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans. That’s my view. But we can have a respectful disagreement on that.”
So before he was voted into office, he was not in support of marriage for the same-sex, but they should be able to visit each other in the hospitals or transfer or property to each other????  Come on people, with legal documents I can transfer property to my friend  or my boss and they can visit me in the hospital as well.  So that is in no way treating same-sex relationship as equal or with respect as what people refer to a “traditional” marriage.  Respecting them would be to allow them to LEGALLY with documentation show that they are in a loving, monogamous, and legally recognized marriage between 2 consenting adults.
We are all entitled to our opinions and support the candidates which we think are best for our country.  Well, I find Mr. Obama a man who has no beliefs of his own.  He is simply going along with what he thinks the people want.  What I want is a President who will stand by what he believes in, not some guy who is trying to catch the vote of a group of what some think are a minority.  I will repeat what I Said yesterday….those who love someone of the same sex are NOT a minority.  They have and always will be a part of our society.  You can either wake up and accept them or stay under a rock wishing that the “abomination” would go away, when the true abomination are those who can’t accept change, move forward, and go with the times and stay under that rock.

Why does it have to be called GAY or Striaght Marriage???

I do not understand the reason for banning gay marriage.  They are human beings who fall in love and want to spend their lives with that person.  Who are we to judge who gets married whether it be gay or straight?  Why do we have to categorize it at all… MARRIAGE is just that marriage…
1.      The definition of marriage as take from bing.com is this legal relationship between spouses: a legally recognized relationship, established by a civil or religious ceremony, between two people who intend to live together as sexual and domestic partners.

2.      The definiton of marriage as taken from merriam-webster.com: a (1) : the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (2) : the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage
Sure under the merriam definition it does state opposite sex in the first part but in the second part it mentions same sex as well. This aggravates me immensely that we are judging other people based on their sexual preference and denying them what ANY human being should be granted.  For goodness sake just because someone feels different than you do does NOT make you right or them wrong.  They are opinions and EVERYONE’s vary.  Where does any state get off on telling people they cannot marry someone of the same sex?  These people are generally law abiding, hard-working, tax paying citizens just like straight people.
Bringing religion into it is NOT a reason to deny or make gay marriage outlawed.  There is a separation of church and state for a reason (at least there is supposed to be).  Remember that.  Our ancestors created that separation for a reason.  NOWHERE in the definition marriage does it say ANYTHING about religion, sexual preference, or even marrying someone a different race than you. We live in a melting pot of a country where there are people from ALL over the world come.  They are Spanish, Italian, African, Brazilian, Colombian, among soooooooooooo many others.  What makes our government fit to tell or you that we can’t marry someone of the same sex.  Granted I am straight but the point is I do NOT want the government telling me who I am allowed to fall in love with and decide to marry.
In North Carolina they VOTED to ban gay marriage.  Who the hell are all of you people to say that someone can’t marry a person they love.  You are NOWHERE near perfect and therefore should NOT have any say in what others do in their lives. Why should you get to judge anyone else for loving a person of the same sex?  Why should my neighbor be allowed to tell me who I can and can’t marry?  What is next...my neighbors can tell me what car to drive because THEY think it is the right thing?  Also in North Carolina there were a handful of employers that offered a domestic partnership benefits .  Because of this friggin’ amendment those employers have to take it away because the only legal partnership is marriage.  North Carolina needs to get with the times as does every other state in this country.
People are gay.  Who cares!  Who they choose to love has no bearing on my life.  Gay people don’t stand over you and try to force you to be gay...so stop telling them that the only way they can be married is to be straight.  Treat others as you want to be treated.  Show respect, kindness, care, and take care of yourself.  Stop trying to dictate what others need to do to measure up to YOUR standards.  Personally, all of you who want to ban gay marriage are a bunch of PRICKS that think they are better than everyone else.  Let me tell you something…YOU ARE NOT!  You are lower than pond scum and do not deserve to get a vote in this country if you think that gay marriage should be banned.  Being GAY does not make you a bad person.  Being gay does not make you different.  There are PLENTY enough gay people in this country (obviously they don’t live in N.C.) to say that they are a small percentage of the country.  So to you GAY HATERs out there in the world...GET OVER IT.  Gay people had the same organs that you do on the inside, they breathe the same air, go to the same universities, and YES…some of them even take care of you as they are doctors, lawyers, or even a mechanic.
You, yes you, the lady who says that gay people can’t marry….how would you like if someone told you that you couldn’t have that GOD AWFUL hair cut you have simply because they are uncomfortable with it?  You wouldn’t like it, would you?  I also hate to tell you that gays have always been around they will always be around so either ACEEPT it…or go live under a rock.
